Legendary Pakistani left-arm fast bowler and former captain Wasim Akram has ourightly trashed Indian newspaper’s report that he was vying for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman post, labelling the report “fake news”.

In a tweet uploaded on Tuesday, Wasim Akram urged Indian media to “stop spreading such fake news” and clarified that he was "never interested in it".

“Please stop spreading such fake news. Get your sources right,” he said while responding to a report published in Times of India.

The legendary fast bowler said that the TOI is one of India’s top and credible newspapers and such baseless news can only hurt its image.

The PCB chairman’s post is a specialised job and he was never interested in it, he said, adding, “Thank God, I am content where I am in my life.”
