Woman gets husband arrested for torture in Sheikhupura
Anti-Harassment and Violence Wing of Punjab Police after receiving a call from a woman arrested her husband on Tuesday in Rachna Town Ferozawala in Sheikhupura for torturing her, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The woman after becoming a victim of her husband’s alleged torture approached the newly formed Anti-Women Harassment and Violence Cell of Police.

DPO Sheikhupura Ahsan Saifullah said the Cell swung into action swiftly after receiving the woman's complaint and registered a case against her husband at Ferozwala Police Station and arrested the accused.

The victim woman was shifted to DHQ hospital for medical treatment.

Earlier, Punjab Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Inam Ghani ordered setting up an "anti-women harassment and violence cell."
The "anti-women harassment and violence cell" will ensure a response is given to women’s complaints within 15 minutes, while lady police officers will be working as support officers in the cell, said IGP Ghani.
