Imran Khan thanks people for donating to flood victims

Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan Wednesday thanked the people of Pakistan, especially overseas Pakistanis for generously donating to the flood victims, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
According to the sources, he was expressing his views while chairing a meeting of the party leaders who were gathered to discuss various issues including initiating the second phase of the telethon to collect donations for flood victims.
PTI Secretary General Asad Umar, Shibli Faraz, Shaukat Tareen, Munaza Hussain, Umar Ayub, Punjab Finance Minister Mohsin Leghari, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra, and Dr Sania Nishtar were part of the meeting.
PTI Sindh President Ali Haider Zaidi, Khurshid Alam, Dr. Iftikhar Durrani, Senator Faisal Javed, and Amjad Ali Khan were also present.
The meeting considered the strategy to transfer collected donations to the flood victims in a coordinated and transparent manner.
Discussions were also held on the formation of a committee headed by Dr. Sania Nishtar for the management of donations and the effective arrangement of relief activities.
A discussion on the estimation of the damage caused by the floods in the four provinces and the method of distribution of aid was also discussed
Former prime minister Imran Khan said the donations collected for the flood victims will be spent transparently on the rehabilitation of the disaster-affected Pakistanis.
He said the deadly effects of climate change are becoming prominent in our region and abundant state resources should be utilized for permanent redressal of the devastating effects of climate change.
Tehreek-e-Insaf as a party has always performed the duty of national service in emergency situations, Imran Khan added.
