Although water in River Sutlej at Arifwala has receded a little, still miseries of the people affected by floods are far from over as dozens of villages are still inundated and crops sown over hundreds of acres of land and roads have been washed away, causing a colossal loss to farmers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

On the other hand, authorities are busy evacuating people from the affected area spreading over 28 kilometers, while Pakistan Army is assisting the local administration and Rescue 1122 personnel in the completion of their task.

Meanwhile, on the instructions of the Punjab government, food items and ration are being distributed among flood victims.

However, the people are still looking up to the government for more assistance.
