Deputy PM Ishaq Dar visits Luban Workshop in Tianjin

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar Sunday visited the Luban Workshop in Tianjin, China, where he reviewed a technical and vocational exhibition and met with Pakistani students undergoing training, the Foreign Office spokesperson said.

Dar was briefed on the workshop’s programmes and discussed avenues of cooperation in technical and vocational education, which he termed “a vital support to Pakistan’s economic growth.”

The spokesperson noted that the Tianjin authorities provide high-level technical education through the Luban Workshop, where students are trained in mechanical engineering, automation, and IT.

Since its launch in 2016, 36 Luban Workshops have been held across 30 countries, including Pakistan, where a workshop was organised in Lahore in 2018. Currently, seven Pakistani students are receiving training in China under the programme.
