One killed, 10 injured in firing incidents in Karachi
A man was killed and 10 others were seriously injured in different firing incidents across Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The first firing incident took place at Qasba Colony in the Kati Pahari area, in which one man, who was identified as Ehsanullah, received three bullets while standing outside a medical store and died on the spot.
Police said that the deceased was involved in a land dispute while his rivals were in search for him from the last day.
Soon after the incident, a police party rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body of Ehsanullah to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Further investigation was underway.
In another incident, two persons became seriously injured in a firing incident in Singo Lane area of Chakiwara
Police said that a clash erupted between Baba Brohi and his accomplices due to a financial dispute two weeks earlier.
Soon after the incident, police reached the site and shifted the injured persons to the hospital. The Crime Scene Unit department collected evidence from the crime scene.
CCTV footage of the firing incident was obtained, and further investigation was underway.
In the third incident in Gharibabad Railway Phattak, five persons, including a woman, sustained serious injuries when a clash erupted among them.
Police said that after the clash, some unknown accused torched their tenants. The residents of the area said that some drug addicts used to sit in the tenants'.
When the residents tried to stop them, they became annoyed, and a clash erupted between them.
All the injured people were being provided a first aid and further investigation was underway.
In a police encounter in Machar Colony, one accused was arrested in injured condition, and his accomplices escaped from the scene.
The injured accused was later identified as Faisal, alias Guru. Police arrested the accused and recovered weapons and a motorcycle from his possession.
In another police encounter, two accused were arrested in injured condition. One accused was identified as Abdullah.
Police also recovered two pistols and one motorcycle from his custody.
A person, namely Saqib, became critically injured during a clash. The firing incident took place in the Khayaban-e-Ali area of Malir City.
A woman, namely Shamim, who was 50 years old, became critically injured when she received a gunshot fired from an unknown place.
The rescuing person shifted the injured woman to the hospital.
In another firing incident a 10-year-old boy was injured. Rescue sources said that the injured child was identified as Ghulam Abbas, who was shifted to the hospital.
