Mike Hesson dedicates wins to flood victims

Pakistan’s white-ball head coach, Mike Hesson, has dedicated the team’s recent victories in the UAE T20I triangular series to the victims of the devastating floods in Pakistan.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media platform X, Hesson prayed for the safety and strength of those struggling in flood-affected areas, remarking: “These back-to-back wins are dedicated to everyone affected by the floods in Pakistan. Some people are really struggling, and we are praying for safety and strength for all those affected back in Pakistan.”

On the field, Pakistan maintained their winning momentum by clinching two consecutive victories.

In their opening match, the Green Shirts produced a clinical all-round performance to secure a 39-run win over Afghanistan. The team followed it up with a commanding 31-run victory against hosts UAE, thanks to a strong batting display.

The double triumph not only gave Pakistan an early edge in the series but also boosted their confidence ahead of more crucial fixtures.

They are set to face Afghanistan again on Tuesday, September 2, before taking on the UAE once more on September 4.

The triangular series serves as vital preparation for the upcoming ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup, scheduled in the UAE from September 9 to 28, featuring eight competing teams.
