Tri-nation T20I series: Pakistan beat UAE by 31 runs to secure second win

Pakistan registered their second successive victory in the ongoing tri-nation T20 series, beating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 31 runs in Sharjah on Saturday, 24NewsHD TV reported. 

Batting first after winning the toss, Pakistan posted a formidable total of 207 runs in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to brilliant half-centuries from Saim Ayub and Hasan Nawaz.

In response, the UAE began their chase positively with a 39-run opening stand.

 However, Pakistan’s bowlers quickly turned the game around, and at just 76 runs, half of the UAE’s side was back in the pavilion.

Only Asif Khan resisted the pressure, playing a spectacular knock of 77 runs from 35 balls, keeping his team in contention until the final overs.

Captain Muhammad Waseem chipped in with 33, but the rest of the batting order failed to offer substantial support, and UAE eventually finished at 176 for 8 in 20 overs.

Hasan Ali was the standout bowler for Pakistan, taking three wickets, while Mohammad Nawaz grabbed two.

 Saim Ayub and Salman Mirza also contributed with one wicket each to cap off a solid all-round performance.

The 31-run victory consolidated Pakistan’s position at the top of the table in the tri-series, giving them strong momentum ahead of their upcoming matches.

Batting first, the Pakistani side was bowled out in the final over of the innings after posting 207 runs on the scoreboard.

Young opener Saim Ayub was the top performer with a fluent 69-run knock, while Hasan Nawaz added 56 runs to the total.

Mohammad Nawaz also chipped in with a handy 25, helping Pakistan reach a formidable total.

For UAE, bowlers put up a spirited show despite the onslaught. Sagheer Khan and Junaid Siddique impressed with the ball, claiming three wickets each, while Haider Ali also made his mark by dismissing two Pakistani batsmen.

Pakistan made two changes to the playing XI. Hasan Ali and Salman Mirza have been included in the side, replacing Shahid Afridi and Haris Rauf.

Pakistan crushed Afghanistan by 39 runs in the series opener on Friday.
