National Vaccine Policy ready for PM Shehbaz’s nod, meeting told
A meeting on the National Vaccine Policy, held with Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal in the chair, was told on Wednesday that the policy was ready for an approval by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per the declaration issued after the meeting, Special Assistant to PM (SAPM) Haroon Akhtar Khan informed that the production of vaccines would start in the country in light of the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
He further said that the National Vaccine Policy would ensure that vaccines were manufactured locally. “This will prove to be a milestone in health and industrial sectors,” the SAPM said, and added that the policy would have long-term benefits for the masses.
Speaking on the occasion, the health minister said that the policy was need of the hour since it would end reliance on other countries. “Vaccines will be manufactured in the country as per international standards,” Mustafa added.
