Petrol, diesel prices decreased in Pakistan on New Year's Eve

In a welcome move for consumers, the government on Wednesday evening announced a cut in fuel prices ahead of the New Year.

Petrol will now be available at Rs10.28 per liter cheaper, while the price of high-speed diesel has been decreased by Rs8.57 per liter.

The new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs253.17 per liter and high-speed diesel will now cost Rs258.8 per liter.

The Ministry of Energy has issued a formal notification regarding the new prices, which will remain in effect for the next fortnight.

The cut in fuel prices comes as a relief to motorists and businesses, providing some respite amid rising living costs.
