Joe Root retains top spot in ICC Test batters: Harry Brook rises tosecond, Saud Shakeel moves up
Pakistan’s Saim Ayub achieved a major milestone by securing the top spot in the T20 all-rounders rankings. In other T20 categories, India continued its dominance as Abhishek Sharma retained the number one position among T20 batters, while Varun Chakravarthy remained the top-ranked T20 bowler.
Meanwhile, England’s Joe Root has retained his number one position in the latest ICC Test batters rankings, while his compatriot Harry Brook jumped three places to claim the second spot, according to updated rankings released on Wednesday.
Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel improved his position, moving up from 10th to 9th, while India’s Shubman Gill entered the top ten, securing the 10th position. England opener Zak Crawley is currently placed at 36th in the Test batters rankings.
In the Test bowlers' rankings, India’s Jasprit Bumrah continues to dominate at the top position. Australia’s Mitchell Starc climbed one place to reach second, equalling 843 rating points with Pakistan’s Nauman Ali. Australian pacer Scott Boland moved up two places to seventh.
England bowlers also made notable gains, with one English bowler climbing four places to 13th, while Brydon Carse jumped six spots to 23rd. Josh Tongue made a significant leap, rising 13 places to reach 30th.
In the Test all-rounders rankings, India’s Ravindra Jadeja maintained his number one position.
