Zimbabwe T20 captain Sikandar Raza's younger brother passes away at 13
Zimbabwe T20I captain Sikandar Raza has suffered a personal tragedy with the passing of his younger brother, Muhammad Mahdi, who died in Harare on 29 December 2025 at the age of 13, 24NewsHD TV reported on Wednesday.
Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed the sad news in a statement, revealing that Muhammad Mahdi was born with haemophilia and passed away following recent health complications.

“Muhammad Mahdi was born with haemophilia and sadly lost his life due to recent health complications,” Zimbabwe Cricket said while expressing its condolences to the bereaved family.
The young boy was laid to rest on 30 December 2025 at Warren Hills Cemetery in Harare.
Zimbabwe Cricket extended prayers for strength and patience to the family during this difficult time.
“May Allah grant them comfort and strength and may Muhammad Mahdi’s soul rest in eternal peace,” the statement added.
Tributes have poured in from across the cricketing fraternity, with players, officials, and fans expressing their sympathy and support for Raza during the period of mourning.
