Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Monday gave a farewell to the outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmed.

Addressing a dinner hosted by the Association on the occasion of his retirement, Justice Gulzar said that he has never considered himself separate from the lawyers’ community.

He said that he ever tried to resolve the lawyers’ problems on priority. He also thanked the SCBA for arranging a dinner for him.

Nominated CJP Justice Umar Ata Bandial while addressing the dinner said that the common goal of the bar and the bench is to provide justice.

Justice Bandial said the number of pending cases has increased and ensured that the decisions of cases will be made after hearing the parties.

He also requested media and social media professionals should criticize decisions, not judges because their hearts were hurt by unjustified criticism.

Earlier, the President of the SCBA, Advocate Ahsan Bhoon, while paying homage to the outgoing CJP Justice Gulzar said that the services of the Chief Justice for the Housing Society will always be remembered by the lawyers’ community. Bhoon also presented shields to Justice Gulzar and Justice Bandial.
