The shortage of oxygen and ventilators has resulted in the deaths of seven infants in the Children Ward of Larkana’s Chandka Hospital during the last 24 hours, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday while quoting its sources.
On the other hand, the hospital’s Medical Superintendent (MS), Dr. Abdus Sattar Sheikh has denied that any infant has died, and has claimed that the situation in the Ward is under control.
Five of the dead have been identified as Asma Baby, Aqsa, Shah Zain, Asad and Hanif.
Following frequent incidents of deaths, people have started shifting their kids from the Children Ward to the Private Ward.
Talking to 24News, Javed Shah, a father, said his son Aun Muhammad Shah was admitted to the ward. “But after seeing children dying, I had to shift him to the private ward,” he said, and added, “I myself testify that the infants had died due to the shortage of oxygen as well as ventilators.”
