PTI founder defends wife, alleges false testimonies in Toshakhana case proceedings

The former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan Tuesday engaged in a conversation with Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir during the Toshakhana case hearing in Adiala Jail, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

PTI founder Imran Khan expressed concerns over the proceedings and asserted that their right to defend had been suspended.

He expressed his desire to the accountability court to personally cross-examine the witnesses.

He pleaded for the restoration of the right of cross-examination and queried the judge about the possibility of a sentence announcement that day.

Judge Muhammad Bashir reassured Imran Khan, stating not to worry about the proceedings. The court emphasized that they had received the actual prices of the Toshakhana gifts, necessitating cross-examination.

Imran Khan reiterated his intent to expose false witnesses and lamented the rushed nature of the proceedings, emphasizing his need for a fair defense.

Imran Khan vehemently refuted the accusations, claiming they were based on false testimonies.

He also defended his wife, denouncing her unwarranted involvement in the case and condemning the ordeal she faced.

Expressing skepticism about the trial's pace, Imran Khan voiced concerns that decisions might be rushed.

PTI founder reiterated his stance on his wife's innocence and criticized the summoning of false testimonies.

A lie was summoned by the Military Secretary of the Prime Minister's House, he added.
