Lahore boy escapes serious throat injury after slit by kite string

A ten-year-old boy escaped serious throat injury after his neck got partly slit by a Chinese kite string while he was playing with friends in a public park in Lahore’s Valencia Town area on Friday evening, 24NewsHD TV reported.

According to residents and police officials, the incident occurred around 7:00 pm in Valencia Town's park, where Mohammad Mustafa Afandi was engaged in playing with other children.

During play, a stray kite string caught his neck, causing a cut.

The child was immediately supported by people present at the park, preventing the situation from turning serious.

He was later treated for the injury and was reported to be out of danger.

Residents expressed concern over the recurring threat posed by unattended kite strings in public spaces, especially to children, and called for stricter enforcement against the use of hazardous materials.

They said the boy was fortunate to have escaped without major harm.
