Cattle markets have been swarmed with people who want to commemorate Eidul Azha following Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice.
Reportedly the sellers of sacrificial animals at a Punjab capital’s cattle market, Shahpur Kanjran, have been cashing in on the eve of Eidul Azha.
According to livestock sellers, lockdown and confinement to a government-allocated place made them spend more money on taking sacrificial animals to the sale point.
Shortage of animals also cited as a factor for the hiked price of livestock. However, buyers questioned as why they were bearing the brunt of the government’s action. The government should have depute officials to keep a check on prices, a buyer said. However, public voice falls on a deaf ear.
