Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Saturday suggested the party chairman Imran Khan to appoint his relative Chaudhry Arshad as a new Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Barrister Sultan had rejected the offer to be a next President of AJK from the party after getting a majority in the Kashmir general elections 2021.
Barrister Sultan proposed the name of his close relative Ch Arshad for the next PM. He also offered the party that he would be ready to serve as a member of the assembly if his proposed name was endorsed.
Anyhow, consultations for the major four positions in the AJK government including president, prime minister, speaker, and deputy speaker were continued among the bigwigs of the party.
For the post of the premiership, the names of Khawaja Farooq, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, Azhar Sadiq, and Barrister Sultan Mehmood were being discussed.
For some other important posts, the names of Anser Abdali, Qayyum Niazi and Abdul Majid were also under observation and discussion.
The PTI chairman has called the parliamentary party meeting on Sunday in which they would make a consultation over the name of Speaker, Deputy Speaker and other positions in the AJK assembly.
In the meeting, a discussion about the upcoming elections on reserved seats in the AJK assembly would also be held and they would make a strategy to win the seats.
