Elahi advises Punjab govt to shut schools for saving kids’ lives

Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi opposing the decision to open schools from Monday in Punjab, advised the Buzdar government to shut the schools for saving children from the new wave of coronavirus.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Elahi was talking to Punjab Minister for Minerals Ammar Yasir, Education Foundation Punjab Chairman Aftab Akbar MPA, and Malik Abdul Manan during a meeting with them here on Saturday.
Elahi suggested to the government that the new wave of coronavirus was a moment of contemplation so should not be played with the lives of children and parents by opening educational institutions.
The Punjab Assembly speaker also advised that the standard operating procedures (SOPs) should be strictly implemented to prevent Corona in the province of Punjab.
He said that the fourth wave of Corona was spreading very fast, so the educational institutions should not be opened and made the people suffer from it.
Elahi said that due to Corona, the economy of Pakistan was in ruins and everyone had to work together to strengthen the economy of the country.
On this occasion, PTI legislator Sardar Aftab Akbar ensured the Speaker that they would continue to serve the people along with the member national assembly (MNA) Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Ammar Yasir in the constituencies.
In the meeting, they also chalked out a plan of action for resolving the issues related to their constituencies of NA-65, PP-23 and PP-24.
