Five die as van carrying wedding party catches fire in Rajanpur

The death toll in an incident of fire in a van near the Rojhan area of Rajanpur in south Punjab now stands at 5 while more than 10 injuries have been reported so far, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Dr Inamullah Jamali, MS at District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital, told the media that an emergency had been imposed at the hospital as all doctors, paramedics and other staff had been asked to remain alert while additional beds had also been arranged.
He further said that so far of five people shifted to the hospital with bruises on their bodies, one woman had succumbed to her injuries.
A van carrying a wedding party had suddenly caught fire at Rojhan toll plaza on the Indus Highway early Saturday morning.
Although Rescue 1122 officials and fire brigade officials reached the site but by that time the entire van had been gutted.
