PTI govt increases sugar retail prices by Rs1.26 per kg

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government Saturday increased the retail and ex-mill prices of sugar by Rs1.26 per kilogram.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, after revised the sugar rates, the retail price of sugar has been increased from Rs88.24 to Rs89.50 per kg in the market.
The government has also announced that the new prices would apply immediately that remain in effect until November 15, 2021.
The government had fixed maximum ex-mill rates of sugar at Rs84.50 per kg. The average production cost of sugar in the country was Rs62.71 per kg and the profit on it was Rs8.15 per kg.
Ministry of Industry and Production issued the notification and sent it to the Chief Secretaries and Commissioners of Islamabad.
As per the notification, action would be taken against sugar sellers at exorbitant prices.
