Punjab CM announces Rs800,000 each to heirs of flood victims: Directs authorities to spare no effort for helping flood-hit families

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan Sunday reached Lahore where he will meet the party MPAs and also Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif who will brief him about the administrative affairs of the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Meanwhile, the Punjab chief minister announced financial assistance for the flood-hit people of Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh and Mianwali.

While chairing a meeting in Lahore, he said that the Punjab government would provide Rs800,000 each to the heirs of those who lost their lives in recent floods.

“The government, after assessing damage to the houses, crops and the cattle, will provide financial assistance to the people,” he stated and also directed the authorities concerned to ensure early repairs to the damaged roads in the flood-hit areas.

He also ordered the officials concerned to set up medical camps in the areas affected by floods, adding that people who had been displaced during floods would be administered vaccine for protection against disease.

“Medicines for the cure of cholera and antivenom should be available at the medical camps. Ration should be distributed to the flood-hit people. Drainage of flood water should be ensured through dewatering pumps,” he directed.

“The commissioners, deputy commissioners, regional police officers (RPOs) and district police officers (DPOs), along with the elected representatives, should spare no effort for helping the flood-hit families,” he remarked.

“All relief activities should be monitored and regular reports should be submitted. All the departments concerned should speed up the relief activities in a coordinated manner,” he added.

“I myself will soon visit the flood-hit areas. Our brothers and sisters from the flood-hit areas will not be left alone,” he vowed.

Other relief activities in the flood-hit areas were also reviewed during the meeting.
