Afshan Quraishi condemns Mohammed Ahmed incident
Veteran actress and Faysal Qurishi's mother Afshan Quraishi has reacted strongly to the viral clip involving senior actor and writer Mohammed Ahmed and quoted that she was deeply upset by the way he was allegedly treated on set.
Speaking about the incident, Afshan said she could not understand why a senior artist was being mocked while others around him laughed.
She questioned what anyone could gain from disrespecting an established actor.
Afshan also praised Mohammed Ahmed for remaining calm and silent despite the alleged humiliation and described his response as a sign of great dignity and maturity.
She further urged younger artists to treat their seniors with respect and explained that people should remember and honour those who have paved the way for them in the entertainment industry.
The incident came to light after Mohammed Ahmed recalled how a younger actor allegedly mocked his appearance, acting style and hairstyle in front of the cast and crew during a shoot.
The actor was later identified on social media as Fahad Sheikh, who apologised to Ahmed privately and publicly, saying he never intended to disrespect his senior.
Mohammed Ahmed later asked fans not to harass Fahad Sheikh, the director, crew or others who were present, saying he had addressed the matter and wanted everyone to move on.
