A medical report of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was submitted before an accountability court on Tuesday, which says that the doctors have advised him to stay in self-isolation.
It says Nawaz belongs to an age group that can experience coronavirus strike. They had confirmed an appointment at the University Hospital Geneva in Switzerland for checkup but he cannot be shifted there due to his condition.
Moreover, the report also mentions that Nawaz is being administered more medicines for his cardiac issues and the arteries supplying blood to his heart have narrowed. His arteries, therefore, need catheterization.
The former prime minister is in London after the high court had suspended his sentence in the Al-Azizia reference for eight weeks on medical grounds. However, it was said that the Punjab government can extend the period after a review.
But after Punjab’s recommendation that there shouldn’t be any extension, the federal government wrote a letter to the UK authorities earlier this month, saying that his bail had expired and he should be deported.
Also this month, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) summoned him in a case pertaining to the alleged allotment of a land to Editor-in-Chief Jang/Geo Group Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman.
But an accountability court in Lahore the other day exempted the PML-N supremo, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and nephew Yousaf Abbas from appearing in person in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case until the filing of reference.
