A man, who was in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) custody, died at Nishtar Hospital in Multan on Thursday after he reportedly consumed ‘acid’ in jail, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Abdul Khaliq, a patwari, had been arrested in connection with a metro corruption case. 

The death created outrage in the family members of the deceased as well as in the employees union who closed the hospital’s gate in protest, prompting the police and the hospital’s security personnel to reach the spot and control the situation. 

Abdul Khaliq’s body was transported to hospital for the postmortem, while his family members demanded probe into his death.
