Aleema Khan calls for mass PTI gathering outside Adiala Jail next week

Aleema Khan on Tuesday announced a major political mobilisation, urging 10,000 office-bearers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to gather outside Adiala Jail next week in support of the jailed former prime minister Imran Khan.

Speaking to the media at a short distance from Adiala Jail, Aleema said that thousands of PTI representatives would stage a peaceful sit-in to press the government for allowing proper medical treatment for Imran Khan. “We will bring 10,000 PTI officials who will sit here for Imran Khan,” she stated, adding that the time had come to increase pressure.

She emphasized that the party aims to push the authorities to shift Imran Khan to a hospital if needed, while also demanding that courts expedite hearings related to his and Bushra Bibi’s cases.

Aleema criticized both the government and sections of the judiciary, alleging delays in legal proceedings. She said public pressure from PTI workers would ensure that pending appeals are taken up.

Rejecting speculation about any behind-the-scenes negotiations, she clarified that the party is not engaged in talks with any quarters, adding that responsibility for any future dialogue has been entrusted to Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas.

She announced that party leader Sohail Afridi would lead the upcoming street movement, hinting at intensified political activity in the coming days. “The temperature will now rise,” she remarked, calling on committed party workers to actively participate while asking others to step aside.

The announcement signals a renewed phase of political mobilisation by PTI, with a strong show of support expected outside Adiala Jail in the coming week.
