Positivity ratio declines to 4.05% as Pakistan reports 43 new virus deaths
Another 43 people lost their lives to the coronavirus whereas 2,117 new infections were reported during the last 24 hours (Sunday) across Pakistan, showed the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday morning.
As per the latest NCOC statistics, after the addition of 43 new deaths, the toll has now surged to 20,779 which represents a ratio of 2.3 percent.
The positivity ratio of the coronavirus cases in Pakistan was 4.05 percent, as 2,117 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 52,223 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 921,053 that returned positive after conducting 13,221,581 total tests so far.
The number of active cases in the country is 59,033 with 3,947 patients in critical condition.
There were 1,919 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 841,241 with a 91.3% recovery rate.
Punjab
Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 613 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the provincial tally to 339,686 with 20,199 active cases. In Punjab, 17 more patients died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 9,999. With 755 new recoveries, 309,488 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.
Sindh
Sindh has recorded 913 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 317,665 with 25,601 active cases. With 6 new deaths related to the deadly disease, the death toll in Sindh reached 5,020. With 286 new recoveries, 287,044 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 379 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 132,549 with 5,345 active cases. The province reported 13 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 4,073. With 336 new recoveries, 123,131 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Balochistan
Balochistan has recorded another 65 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 25,148 with 1,118 active cases. The province reported one new death as the death toll reaches 277. With 158 new recoveries, 23,753 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Islamabad
Islamabad has recorded 79 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 81,195 with 5,471 active cases. With 3 new deaths reported in the Federal Capital as the virus death toll reaches 760. With 173 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 74,964 in the federal capital so far.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir
Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 62 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 19,232 with 1,186 active cases. With 3 new deaths reported, the death toll reaches 543. There were 209 new recoveries in the AJK as 17,503 patients have recovered so far from the virus.
Gilgit-Baltistan
Gilgit-Baltistan recorded 6 new cases during the last 24 hours, as the tally reached 5,578 with 113 active cases. No new death reported in the province as the death toll remains at 107. There were 2 new recoveries as the number of patients recovered from the deadly disease reaches 5,358.
