On the issue of voting of the overseas Pakistanis, the federal government has decided to give reserved seats to them in the National and Provincial Assemblies.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, this decision was taken by the Federal Cabinet meeting held here in Islamabad on Tuesday.
In the meeting, the federal cabinet directed the Parliamentary Division to raise the issue in the All Parties Committee on Electoral Reforms.
As per the decision, the All Parties Committee will send recommendations for electoral reform legislation and then the parliamentary division will consult the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
The federal cabinet declared overseas Pakistanis a valuable asset of the country and said that they will be involved in the political process.
