National Women s Squad for Commonwealth Games announced

The Pakistan Cricket Board Tuesday announced the national women's squad for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and a tri-series in Ireland, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The chief selector, Asmawia Iqbal made the announcement, retaining the same squad that clean swept Sri Lanka in the recently concluded T20I series.

The chief selector decided to retain the squad after consulting national women's cricket team captain Bismillah Maroof and head coach David Hemp.

In addition to the 15-member squad announced for the two events, three reserve cricketers Ghulam Fatima, Umm Hani and Sadaf Shams are also included.

The triangular T20 series between the women's teams of Pakistan, Ireland and Australia will be played in Belfast from July 16 to 24.

In the Commonwealth Games, Pakistan will play three matches on July 29, 31 and August 3 against Barbados, India and Australia, respectively.

In this regard, the training camp of National Women's Cricket Squad will be held from 1st to 11th July in House of Northern Islamabad.

The national squad will leave for the UK on July 12.

The national squad include: 

Bismillah Maroof (captain), Ayman Anwar, Alia Riaz, Anam Amin, Ayesha Naseem, Diana Baig, Fatima Sana, Gul Feroze (wicket keeper), Iram Javed, Kainat Imtiaz, Muneeb Ali Siddiqui (wicket keeper), Nada Dar, Amima Sohail, Sadia Iqbal and Toba Hassan.
