The department suggests placing pieces of glass on walls in case they are 10 feet high.
Furthermore, administrations of these schools have been advised to immediately rebuild outer walls if they are in a dilapidated condition. “The routes leading to schools must be zigzag. The department has directed these schools to immediately inform it of the number of security guards they have and the number of weapons they possess. “Besides that, make sure that your metal detectors, walkthrough gates and security alarms should be in a working condition,” writes the department.
The administrations have been informed that commissioners, deputy commissioners and assistant commissioners will visit their after June 15 during the summer vacations to inspect the arrangements they have made to protect their children from incidents of terrorism. “And in case, these arrangements were found to be inadequate, strict action will be taken against these schools’ management,” warns the letter.
