A baby was born in mid-flight as a Qatar Airways plane made an emergency medical landing at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The flight QR-934 which took off from Doha and was heading to Philippine capital Manila made an emergency landing at Karachi Airport after a pregnant passenger gave birth to a baby boy during the flight.

The baby was born before the plane was landed at the Karachi Airport and hours after the plane departed from Doha on Monday evening.

Sensing the urgency of the situation, the Qatar Airways pilot contacted the Air Traffic Controller at the Karachi Airport, seeking permission for an emergency landing which was allowed.

The baby had already born, still the medical staff at the Karachi Airport thoroughly checked the woman and newly-born baby on the plane and later they were taken to Memon Hospital in Karachi for further medical assistance.
