Former FBR assistant director arrested in fraud case

Former FBR assistant director Farooq Qamar has been arrested in Hyderabad, allegedly for fleecing businessmen in the name of auction, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.

According to the FIA, the arrest was made on the complaint of businessman Manzar Alam.

The accused had reportedly taken Rs250,000 from him in the name of a plastic raw material auction.

FIA Investigation Officer Waqar Ahmed said the accused also collected money in the name of FBR Inland Revenue demand notices.
