Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi refuses to appear in court

Bushra Bibi, wife of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, on Saturday refused to appear before a judge, hearing Toshakhana-II case against her and her husband, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Adiala Jail officials brought Imran to the courtroom. But when they went to Bushra’s cell to take her to the court, she refused, saying she would not go because she was not allowed to meet her husband at the last hearing on Tuesday.  

Special Judge Central Shah Rukh Arjumand waited for Bushra for three and a half hours. But she did not turn up. Consequently the statements of four witnesses could not be recorded.

Expressing indignation over the former first lady’s refusal to appear in court, the judge said that he was giving last chance to her. “If she does not appear at the next hearing, I will order the cancellation of her bail in the case.”

Insisting that Bushra’s bail be cancelled, Special Prosecutor Zulfiqar Abbas Naqvi requested the court to go ahead with the hearing without her.

Later, the court adjourned the case’s hearing until June 3.
