A warm reception was given to the first flight of AirAsia X, Malaysia’s cheapest airline, on arrival at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport from Kuala Lumpur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Pakistan Airports Authority presented a water salute to the airline when it touched down at the airport with 298 passengers on board.

In this connection, a cake was also cut at the airport.

Later, the airline’s flight left for Kuala Lumpur with 315 passengers on board.

Malaysia’s consul general in Karachi saw them off.

On this connection, TCB CEO Ali Khawaja Ali Majeed told the media that the TCB was AirAsia X’s general sales agent in Pakistan.

He further said that AirAsia X was Malaysia's biggest airline, and the start of its flight operation in Pakistan would augur well for the latter’s aviation industry.

Ali Majeed said that the airline had started four flights to Karachi in the first phase. “Following Karachi, the airline’s flight operation will also start in Lahore and Islamabad,” the CEO informed.
