Four Afghan kids drown in Hangu water reservoir
Four Afghan children drowned while bathing in a water reservoir in the Kotki area of Hangu’s City Police Station jurisdiction in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to rescue officials, the incident took place in a local mini-dam where the children had entered the water.
Four children lost their lives in the drowning incident, while one child was rescued alive.
Rescue teams confirmed that two of the deceased were brothers.
The ages of the victims were reported to be between five and eight years.
Rescue sources further stated that all of the children involved in the incident were Afghan refugees.
Emergency teams reached the location after the incident was reported and carried out recovery and rescue operations in the area.
