Boult, Mitchell shine as New Zealand beats India by 8 wickets

New Zealand hammered India, while successfully chasing down a 111 runs target in the 28th match of the World T20 Cup Super-12 stage played in Dubai Sports City (DSC) on Sunday.

Batting first, India managed to post a total of 110/7. Ravindra Jadeja (scored unbeaten 26 off 19 balls) and Hardik Pandya (scored 23 off 24 balls). 

Earlier, the top order of India struggled as KL Rahul, managed to score 18 runs while Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma managed to score 4 and 14 runs respectively. Skipper Virat Kohli managed to score 9 runs off 17 balls.

For New Zealand, Daryl Mitchell claimed three wickets, Ish Sodhi took two wickets, Tim Southee and Adam Milne took one wicket each.

In the chase, New Zealand lost their first wicket in 3.4 overs when Martin Guptill was knocked out by Jasprit Bumrah. 

Daryl Mitchell played marvellously and scored 49 off 35 balls (strike rate: 140.00). Kane Williamson scored unbeaten 33 runs off 31 balls.

Earlier, in the 28th match of Super 12, New Zealand won the toss and opted to field first against India.

This match was played in Dubai. The officials for the match was Marais Erasmus (Field umpire), Richard Kettleborough (Field umpire), Adrian Holdstock (Tv umpire), Langton Rusere (Reserve umpire) and Ranjan Madugalle (Match referee).
