PM Shehbaz announces Kissan Relief Package of Rs1,800 billion

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday announced a Kissan Relief Package of Rs1,800 billion, 24News HD TV channel reported.
The PM addressed a news conference in Islamabad and said his government will give loans of Rs1,800 billion to the farmers.
He told the media persons that they have made a consultation with the coalition parties of his government regarding this package.
He announced supplying electricity at a fixed price of Rs13 per unit to the farmers.
Shehbaz Sharif also announced to write off the loans of small farmers belonging to the flood-hit areas across the country.
PM Shehbaz also announced reducing the fertilizers’ price of Rs2,500 while providing Rs50 billion to youth working in the agriculture sector.
The PM said his coalition government will give a subsidy of Rs30 billion for urea.
He said they will import 0.3 million tonnes of urea and 1.6 million tonnes of wheat in the country as 4 million acres of cultivated crops were destroyed by the flood.
Shehbaz Sharif said interest-free loans will be provided to 0.3 million tube well owners while farmers will also be given a subsidy of Rs43 billion on electricity bills.
The PM also made an announcement of the reduction of CKD duty to new investors in the tractor industry.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Tariq Bashir Cheema, and others were also flanked by the PM in the news conference.
