11-member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet takes oath

Eleven members of newly-nominated cabinet of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Sohail Afridi took oath of their offices at Governor House in Peshawar on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi administered the oath to the cabinet members. 

Those who took the oath of KP government included Muzammil Aslam, Mina Khan, Fazal Shakoor, Faisal Tarakai, Aqibullah, Shafi Jan, Khaliq-ur-Rehman, Dr Amjad, Riyaz Khan, Fakhar Jahan and Taj Muhammad Tarand. 

The first phase consisting of 8 ministers, two advisers, and a special assistant.

According to official sources, the summary of the cabinet formation was sent to the Governor House earlier today and has now received formal approval. 

 Sources said Aqibullah, brother of former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser, and Faisal Tarakai, brother of Shahram Tarakai, were added into the cabinet upon Aleema Khan’s insistence.

Muzammil Aslam and Taj Muhammad Tarand have been appointed as advisers to the chief minister.
