Sindh extends date for filing agri income tax to Nov 15

The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has extended the deadline for filing agricultural income tax (AIT) returns for the fiscal year 2025 to November 15, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday. 

According to a circular, taxpayers may now submit AIT-03 forms by the new deadline. These forms were earlier due at the end of October under a previous circular issued on October 6.

The extension has been granted under the Sindh Agricultural Income Tax Rules, 2025, with approval from the provincial government, the SRB said. The move is intended to facilitate taxpayers and ensure the smooth submission of returns across the province.

As part of the recent tax policy adjustments, the Sindh government has postponed the implementation of up to 45% agriculture income tax for one year and restored the previous 15% rate, citing that higher rates could not be applied retrospectively from January 2025.

The Sindh Agriculture Income Tax (Amendment) Ordinance 2025, promulgated by Governor Kamran Khan Tessori on Tuesday, takes effect from January 1, 2025, effectively deferring IMF-agreed reforms to July 2025. 

The move aligns Sindh with Punjab, which last month issued a notification delaying the enforcement of higher agriculture income tax rates until the next fiscal year.
