No businessman from Punjab, KP included in PM’s Economic Advisory Council

Prime Minister Imran Khan has not included any businessman from Punjab or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Economic Advisory Council, which was notified on Saturday. 

Prime Minister Imran Khan will be the chairman and the finance minister will be the vice chairman of the Economic Advisory Council. 

According to the notification, the Economic Advisory Council will consist of 25 members – 13 from the private sector and 12 from the public sector. From the private sector, Shaukat Tareen, Muhammad Ali Tabba, Arif Habib, Shamshad Akhtar, Sultan Ali Allana, Saleem Raza, Salman Shah, Ijaz Nabi, Abid Sulehri, Asif Qureshi, Farooq Rehmatullah, Dr Rashid Amjad and Zaid Ali Muhammad will be members of the council. 

From the public sector, the governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, federal minister for industry and production, Economic Affairs Division, Food Security Division, special assistant to the prime minister on revenue, energy and overseas Pakistanis, Overseas Pakistanis Division and the chairman of the Board of Investment will also be members of the newly formed Economic Advisory Council.
