A woman died due to alleged negligence of doctors at Jacobabad Institute of Medical Sciences (JIMS).

The death sparked protest by heirs of the victim who placed the dead body on road in front of the JIMS, chanting slogans against the hospital administration.

The protest resulted in worst traffic jam on all nearby roads.

The heirs claimed that the woman was brought to the JIMS five days ago after her condition deteriorated following a delivery. They claimed that deceased Abida Kakepoto suffered from Ascites, a medical complication caused by abnormal accumulation or build-up of fluid in the abdomen after maternity. She, however, could be provided with care and treatment at the hospital, which allegedly led to her death, they alleged. The protesters demanded the authorities to take notice of the negligence of the doctors and administration of the hospital. They also demanded registration of a case against the hospital administration for negligence.
