The Director of Primary Education has dismissed 194 employees of the Education Department in Larkana from service over their prolonged absence from duty, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The dismissed employees belonged to different areas of Qambar district.

The sacked staff included 122 men, 64 women, and eight non-teaching members.

According to the Director of Primary Education Gulsher Soomro, the fired employees were absent from duty for a long period of time and were receiving salaries and benefits since 2018 by sitting at homes.

He also said that such employees were playing with students’ future, and burdening the country's exchequer.

“Show-cause notices were sent to those employees after their absence were confirmed from biometrics, but they still failed to appear,” he continued.

The employees were dismissed on the recommendation of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).
