Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has called the order of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) to suspend the licence of 24NewsHD an attack on freedom of the media.

‘Selected’ government wants to hide its incapability to run the state affairs through crushing the freedom of expression, the PPP chief said on Saturday. He demanded the government withdraw its order immediately.

‘Fascist’ government has been targeting ‘unwanted’ reporters and anchors while the owners of media houses are being pressurised in the name of ‘so-called positive reporting’, he said.

The puppet government will gag whoever has objections to it, he said adding that Imran Khan is responsible for ruining the media industry and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is adding to the media workers’ woes
