Federal Minister for Finance Miftah Ismail has said they have documented proof of the previous Imran Khan's government's unfulfillable promises with the IMF but Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to resist it.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the finance minister addressed a press conference on Wednesday and said the former government has left big problems but they will succeed to tackle.

He said Imran led government had made promises to the IMF to end the subsidy of Rs30 and enhancing levy of Rs30 on the petroleum product as well as imposing 17 per cent GST on it.

Criticizing the previous government of PTI for its economic policies, he said that former premier Imran Khan has laid landmines for them. He said prices of sugar have been reduced in his regime.

The finance minister said the Madina incident was a pre-planned act of Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Miftah said the people used abusive language against them when the government delegation was in Masjid-e-Nabvi during their visit to Madina Sharif.

He said PTI Chairman Imran Khan has to answer why transfer posting was done in Punjab at the request of Farah Gogi and why people were booked on the sayings of Shehzad Akbar?

He also said that Imran Khan should answer why he left so much inflation and corruption behind him and why he made promises to IMF that could not be fulfilled.

The finance minister said previous government shut down the power plant which caused 8 hours long load shedding of electricity in the country.

He informed that a meeting was held in Riyadh with the Minister of Finance of Saudi Arabia and hopefully they will get a positive response from them. He said they also met with the UAE delegation in a good atmosphere.

He said IMF delegation will visit Pakistan soon, adding that they will not make any decision that would affect the sovereignty of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
