Former Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Muhammad Umar Sheikh's troubles appeared to have no end in sight as the police high-ups have decided to take action on complaints against Umer Sheikh in various police stations, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The first application against Umar Sheikh was filed by former SHO Gujjarpura followed by a second application filed by the reader of DSP Mughalpura while the third was submitted after Omer Sheikh allegedly abused a Taiwanese woman.

All three complaints against Umer Sheikh were not followed upon but now the Lahore Police will approach the Legal Department to initiate action against the former CCPO, the TV channel reported.

It is pertinent to note that Punjab government on Friday removed Umer Sheikh from the post of Lahore Capital City Police Officer replacing him with Ghulam Mehmood Dogar.

Omer Sheikh has been posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police/Deputy Commandant, Punjab Constabulary Farooqabad.

A notification issued by the Punjab Services and General Administration Department and signed by the chief secretary, stated: "Muhammad Umer Sheikh (PSP/BS-20), Lahore Capital City Police Officer (in his own pay and scale) is hereby transferred with immediate effect and posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police/Deputy Commandant, Punjab Constabulary, Farooqabad against a vacant post."

Former CCPO Omer Sheikh had been in controversies during his short three-month stint in office. It may be worthy to mention here that in September last year, then Punjab IG Shoaib Dastagir was removed after he stopped working in protest against the alleged comments made by Sheikh.

He also landed himself in troubled waters when he made remarks implying that the victim of the Lahore motorway gang-rape incident shared responsibility for her rape. The remarks drew widespread criticism from all walks of life.
