After losing 66 paisas against the rupee on the previous day, the dollar again suffered losses on Friday as it was down by 36 paisas and available for Rs163.30 by the time closed for the day, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

At one point, the dollar was down by 56 paisas and available for Rs163.10 in inter-bank rate, which meant the recovery by rupee continued on the third consecutive day with a net gain of Rs1.59.

On the other hand, both pound sterling and euro grew stronger against the rupee as their values increased by Rs1.99 and Rs2.22 respectively. In this way, the pound closed the day at Rs206.70 and the euro at Rs185.45 in inter-bank trading.

Meanwhile, the dollar rate was down in the open market as well as it was available for Rs163.50 with a loss of 20 paisas. But the euro reached the level of Rs182.50 after gaining Rs1.50 while the pound was available for Rs205 with a gain of Rs2.

Earlier on Wednesday, the rupee broke the sequence of gains made by the dollar which lost 57 paisas against the local currency, ending the day at Rs164.32 against the previous day’s level of Rs164.89.

At one point, the dollar was traded at as low as Rs163.89, representing a loss of one rupee in its value. However, the net loss was reduced by the time trading closed for the day.  

On Tuesday, the dollar continued surging against the rupee for the fourth consecutive day as its value had increased by Rs3.97 in inter-bank rate during this period.

By the time trading was closed on Tuesday, the dollar was available for Rs164.89, meaning it gained 81 paisas during the day. At one point, the greenback had reached the level of Rs165.77, which represented a gain of Rs1.69 against the local currency after the starting from the previous day’s level of Rs164.08.
