The police Sunday arrested an accused involved in a gang rape of a girl who later died in Gujrat on Sunday.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, three men kidnapped a girl named Mehwish from Chak Ghazi in Gujrat district. The accused gave some tranquilizer to the girl and then raped her. Later they left the girl in a critical situation in an abandoned area and fled away.

The gang-rape victim did not survive by the reason of her serious condition and lack of immediate treatment.

On the complaint of Faozia, the mother of the victim, Saddar Police Station Gujrat has registered a case against the main accused Suleman, and his two friends.

The Saddar police have immediately arrested the accused and sent the samples of the victim girl for forensic tests to Lahore lab.
