According to the Ministry of Energy’s report, electricity tariffs recorded annual 11.72 per cent increase under the PTI government as compared with 5.18 per cent increase under the PML-N government so much so that the total increase in tariffs made during the present government’s two and half years is well over that was made during the PML-N government’s five years in office.

According to the report, total 25.9 per cent raise in the electricity bills of households consuming 300 units was witnessed under five years of the PML-N government, and from March 2013 to May 2018, the tariff increased from Rs2,430 to Rs3,060.
