Pakistan, UK pledge to bolster bilateral relations

British High Commissioner to Pakistan Dr Christian Turner on Thursday called on Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi at Foreign Office and discussed the entire gamut of Pakistan-United Kingdom bilateral relations as well as the regional situation, reported 24NewsHD TV.

During the meeting, issues of mutual interests and promotion of bilateral cooperation in multilateral fields were also taken into consideration. 

Foreign Minister Qureshi said that Pakistan attached a special importance to the bilateral relations with the United Kingdom. 

The role of 1.6 million Pakistanis living in the UK is of special importance in strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries, said Qureshi.

The Foreign Minister added that Pakistan seeks strategic partnership to enhance trade and economic cooperation with the UK.

Meanwhile, British High Commissioner Dr Turner assured of his full support for the promotion of bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
