The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has documented the party funding, Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said on Thursday.

According to 24NewsHD TV channel, the minister was briefing the media about the PTI Central Executive Committee meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan. The PTI come clean in the matter of financial details, he said adding that the government will be announcing the funding of PML-N and PPP in ten days.

He claimed that  after the rule of Sharif family and PPP,  the scandal-free PTI came into power. The minister vowed to held transparent local government election in Punjab as well. He said the PM has directed Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Asad Umar to organize the party at provincial levels while apart from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, advisory boards of other provinces have been formed.

Fawad Chaudhry said the PM issued directives for the party workers to get ready for the local government elections and the ruling the party will hold talks with the opposition over the code of conduct.

A couple of days ago,  the minister rubbished allegations of the PTI receiving foreign funding, adding that it was the only political party in the country that had created a legal, detailed and elaborate system for funding. Reportedly, the scrutiny committee revealed the PTI provided ‘false information’ regarding the party's funding to the ECP

The PTI received Rs1.64 billion in funding and did not disclose funds worth more than Rs310 million to the ECP, the body added. However, the info minister said: "The transaction of Rs160m was counted twice because we received money in the central account and transferred it to another. So there was duplicity in the report. The Rs150m was transferred from the centre to the provinces from a PTI subsidiary which was also counted twice.” He claimed the information taken from the State Bank of Pakistan was from before the 2018 general elections.
